Plein air Knotheads

August, we gathered at Knothead Studio for our regularly scheduled ArtLuck. Melissa opened her home to this ragtag group of creatives; some of us arrived early to enjoy the scenery and capture the sights. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by Alex and directed to join the others near Guy Firey, a large metal tiki god-looking sculpture that acts as an outdoor fire pit for roasting delicatables and a general gathering spot on brisk nights near the lake. Nancy was already hard at work on some miniature plein air oil paintings, while Cyd provided emotional support, and Melissa felted away on the deck. I joined them and began working out a drawing of a group of red pines. Later we were joined by Patsy, Wire, Clark, Dee, Melanie, Ricky, Jen, and special guest Sarah Hill. Sarah stopped by after a hard day's work on the pelican mural on Hometown Pharmacy's wall in downtown Chetek, sponsored by Chetek Public Arts League.

We all enjoyed a loving potluck meal while discussing the 2027 Collective Exposure art show at the Heyde, and the upcoming art challenge Artober. After which we got down to business with the show and tell portion of the evening. Review the caption for details on the evening's exhibition.
