March meeting at CJ Conners

This month’s gathering at CJ Conner Studio was a great success! CJ and Bruce provided pizza, while everyone else brought additional tasty treats and some wonderful artwork for show and tell. Those in attendance included members Cyd, Bruce, Nancy, Emma, Patsy, Don, Kathleen, Wire, Clark, Ricky, and Melanie. It’s always nice to explore CJ’s studio; there is so much to take in, and I highly recommend it to anyone who gets the chance.

There were many side conversations occurring, making it challenging to retain all that was discussed. Below are some images from the show and tell presentations.

Patsy kicked things off with a watercolor of a woodland scene, followed by Wire with one of his “500 Faces” series. Nancy then shared her piece titled "Jungle Girl." Clark talked about the many hours he spent crafting his dazzling mini fridge door. Ricky showcased his most recent work, a depiction of Tina Turner from the movie "Acid," which is currently on display at Blackmarx in Cameron. Melanie shared her process of incorporating pieces of her socks into her assemblage work. I presented my rejected submission to the Fabulous Florals show, along with pieces from my February daily digital puzzle. Bruce showed off his handiwork with live edge frames, and Don capped off the evening with a work in progress featuring petroglyphs in Colorado. It was a wonderfully diverse display of talent.
