March meeting at CJ Conners

This month’s gathering at CJ Conner Studio was a great success! CJ and Bruce provided pizza, while everyone else brought additional tasty treats and some wonderful artwork for show and tell. Those in attendance included members Cyd, Bruce, Nancy, Emma, Patsy, Don, Kathleen, Wire, Clark, Ricky, and Melanie. It’s always nice to explore CJ’s studio; there is so much to take in, and I highly recommend it to anyone who gets the chance. There were many side conversations occurring, making it challenging to retain all that was discussed. Below are some images from the show and tell presentations. Patsy kicked things off with a watercolor of a woodland scene, followed by Wire with one of his “500 Faces” series. Nancy then shared her piece titled "Jungle Girl." Clark talked about the many hours he spent crafting his dazzling mini fridge door. Valentines night at Patsy's

Our social meetup at Patsy’s was a great time. Those in attendance included Wire, Don, Kathleen, Patsy, Steve, Melissa, Chris, Cyd, Nancy, Clark, and me (Ben). We all enjoyed some spirits and delicious manicotti. Everyone brought some work to share at show and tell (see images below) Melissa impressed everyone with her new lion sculpture, named “Izingunder,” which she crafted from wool, wood, and various items provided by the Banks. Clark also made a statement by displaying a fender adorned with intricate crystal techniques and a metal-flaked gas tank, illustrating his innovative approach to materials. Nancy showcased her artistic talents with a harlequin painting, complemented by two assemblage pieces titled “Day at the Beach,” as well as a striking bedazzled box purse. May's Plein air on the lake

This month, we gathered at Nancy's lake house for our social hour and some fun on the shore. Wire, Emma and I participated in some early plein air painting. In true fashion, Wire did not paint anything in view but instead drew from his imagination. Don and Bruce spent some time trying to catch some lunkers off the dock. We had a full house, the food was great, and conversation was plentiful. Those in attendance were Don, Kathleen, Patsy, Jen, Nancy, Cyd, Ricky, Emma, Mel, Bruce, and John. If I forgot anyone, I 'm sorry. At show and tell, Don unveiled his latest work, which has ventured into the realm of imaginative composition. Wire, Emma, and I showcased our plein air creation from that day. Patsy presented her work in progress, a bar scene. Ricky brought along another impressive portrait of ___. Melanie gave us a sneak peek at her intuitive mixed media assemblage piece that’s on its way to the Beauty Beyond Our Shore art competition, presented by the Chetek Public Arts League...
